TDA UK organised 2018 planning meeting inviting all its associate institutions. Executive representatives from Thenmaradchi schools and village bodies participated the event. Representatives from Chavakachcheri Hindu College, Drieberg College, Ladies College, Kodikamam Thirunavukkarasu central college, Meesalai Veerasingam central college were some of the schools sent representatives.
Everyone was given an opportunity to speak out their views on how to develop Thenmararchi and what are their priority areas in align with TDA’s objectives of Education, Health and Employment.
TDA UK President Dr Puvinathan presented TDA’s one year achievements and the future plans. He requested cooperation from all Thenmaradchi schools and bodies to work closely and jointly with TDA to attend and drive region wise issues which can not be taken up at school or village level. He emphasized the need for joint projects pointing out that regional development is the key for the education at school or improving villages.
Professor Balasundarampillai, former Vice-Chancellor and the Dean at the University of Jaffna attended the meeting and presented the urgent and important issues Thenmaradchi region and TDA should focus. He answered questions from the participants.
TDA will consider all points and prioritise the projects for their 2018 portfolio. All member associations agreed to work closely with TDA on common projects. All members agreed to coorperate and participate in a “Sponsored Walk” program in 2018 to collect fund for Thenmaradchi Education Fund.
